“Anger leads to fear” . . . have you heard that before?

I’ve been having some fun with this  Anger Leads to Fear thing, and learning a lot by posting on Linked In about it. I posted a question about the Lymph System that I had blogged about and met this really cool guy, Subhasis Banerji who really knows a lot about health and especially the importance of proper breathing. We got into a great exchange and I decided it was really important to pass it on:

Kill Your Gout NOW! —>

Totally agree with your air, water, food order of priority. However, all these 3 inputs are homeostasis/habit based….somewhat automatically controlled by what we have programmed ourselves to do. So the moment we speak about air, for example, we must start training the mind to be observant. Hence “watching” or “following” the breath is more important than “deep” breathing. When we do this, it becomes obvious where the breath faces an obstruction and then, it is again obvious that if we relax that location, the breath becomes more free. In this way, the current homeostasis changes more easily since it is awareness driven at the level of experience rather than “information”. Doing this for 60 secs 4-5 times a day is very powerful, more than doing it once 5 min a day, if you know what I mean. Once you are regularly aware of breath, managing water, food, anger, fear becomes dramatically easier. I tend to connect anger and fear very closely to SA (sleep apnea), gout and their related conditions. Shallow breathing, water deprivation and food excesses are basically reflex reactions triggered frequently by either anger and fear. Observation of breath, once practiced, works wonders for all of them.
Sorry, need a few days to send you stuff…thanks for your inputs!!

I thought about this for a day and a night and woke up thinking about how right he was – and the phase “anger leads to fear” sort of shook out of it. It turns out Yoda said it in Star Wars! Now I’m going to have go and re-study all that wisdom again! If you’re on Linked In, click here and check out the whole thread.

Anger leads to fear . . .

Makes you think doesn’t it?! We all spend so much time, effort, energy, and money buying pills and insurance and going to doctors when if we just learned to control what’s going on in our heads and our hearts we wouldn’t have so many physical problems in the first place! What a great idea for gout pain relief!

I mean, think about; anger leads to fear and we constrict, our guts don’t work right, the blood doesn’t flow, our breathing becomes shallow, we don’t eliminate well, and the cortisol and adrenaline kick in and we become a toxic acidic wasteland . . . all because anger leads to fear . . . what are you so angry about? Where does your fear come from?

If anger leads to fear, take a deep breath and relax – it will save you a lot more than you think!

hey bert….this information is very much like the yoga information that i learned during my training….so important to understand the impact of the breath on our bodies…we seem to forget that oxygen is the most important nutrient for the cells and the blood….and that at least in yoga practice the exhalation is even more important….it removes toxins and stress from the body and mind…

Hi Evelyne,

Yes, this chap, Subhasis is very much of an expert on Yoga, Tai Chi and more. I’ve found my conversations with him to very informative and revealing. I think the two of you have a lot of similarities in your training, approach and outlook. Thanks!
