My life is complete. I can die now.  We are killin’ gout now!

My friend Wayne in New Zealand wrote this email to me the several days ago.  I can’t thank him enough.

  • When you read this Wayne, know that I am deeply indebted to you. Your diligence, commitment and discipline in killing your gout is exemplary!  Thank You!  AND, thank you for taking the time to write this and allowing me to publish what you wrote.  It means more to me than you can know.

Killin’ Gout – The Maori Way

The following is the complete email that Wayne wrote – when I asked him if I could publish it, he said: “Yes of course, you have my absolute approval to use that last e-mail in any way you see fit. It is the least I can do. The thought of it helping others really pleases me.”

Let this be an inspiration to you too!

Tena koe Bert,
(Hi there)

Thanks for touching base with me. I have made it through all of the sessions and  I am happy with my progress to date. I haven’t had an attack since I started the sessions although I do get that tingle feeling on and off. I am in discussions with my doctor and we are working on  stopping the prescribed preventative medication as soon as possible and see how things develop, so I will keep you posted.

To date I have purchased some decent water bottles and chilly bins. I have also purchased an Alkaline water Ionizer which I am looking forward to arriving over the next few days. I have been drinking 3 Quarts of filtered water or more per day as and when I am meant too. I do my breathing, stretching and posture exercises together three time a day, morning noon and evening and attack the wife’s treadmill three times a week. Not the wife herself though, well not that often these days haha. (The brisk walking was a struggle to start with, sore muscles I didn’t know I had).

Unfortunately, where I live in (Whakatu) Nelson, New Zealand, we only have one full on dedicated Organic store and they’re extremely expensive. Some of the products I just can’t afford at the moment with my budget, (just a poor native I am) so although I have had to prioritise at this time I am aiming for full on organic in the near future. All the veggies and fruit I am buying now are from the organic grocer because with summer on its way I intend to eat lots of salads. There are a number of other stores that stock bits and pieces so when I can, I am slowly but surely working my way through them to determine where best to get things.

The good thing is I am saving some money by not buying the usual crap I used to like takeaways, food on the run, soft drinks and alcohol etc.

Its spring here in kiwi land so I am spending the savings I have made, on my own organic garden in the back yard. I currently have tomatoes. lettuce, celery, various herbs, chillies, spring onion and cucumber, strawberries, and a  small blue berry plant or tree underway while my father (84yrs), what a dude, bless him, has got on the band wagon and planted heaps of vegetables like potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, red onions, garlic etc in his garden and ear marked them especially for me.

My father has 8 children, 34 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and like he says that’s only the ones he knows about. His name is Wiremu (William) Hemiwhiro. He is of Maori descendant (native) from the Chieftain bloodline of one of the oldest Iwi (tribe or clan) in (Aotearoa) New Zealand, called Ngati Kuia.  Here is something he said to me recently in response to my gout. I have written it in his language for you and then translated it.

  • Maori: “Tungia te ururua kia tupu whakaritorito te tupu o te harahehe”
  • Translated: “Set fire to the overgrown bush and the new flax shoots will spring up”
  • Meaning: “Clear away what is bad and the good will flourish”

I gave up drinking alcohol altogether and surprising don’t miss it at all. As bread is one of my downfalls, I now make my own no carb bread, with no salt or flour, which isn’t that bad, if I do say so; and I treat myself with a slice every now and then.

I have moved my television and reading chair out of my bedroom which is now pitch black at night time and although I am up once a night for that dreaded pee, I am getting a better sleep these days, especially compared to what I was getting.

I have been filling out my action plan every other day and I am quietly working through the weekly, monthly and one off lists. I have printed out all of the sessions and refer to them often.

I want, no actually I need to make this work and I am under no illusions here. It has to be a life changing exercise and I’m up for the challenge. Like you say Bert, It has taken 58 years for me to get to this stage (as a victim), so although I am not going to fix this overnight, with what you have given me, I am going to fix it. Besides I always wanted to be a rock star, albeit a gout killing one haha.

Thank you Bert for everything. Knowing that I have someone willing to go into bat for me is such a relief. It helps the stress levels no end and at the same time lifts my motivation and determination to make it happen.

Ka kite ano (See you again)
Wayne

It never ceases to amaze me how this horrendous disease can bring people together. Getting to know Wayne has been worth every gout attack . . . well, maybe not every one of them but you know what I mean.

It’s been a lot of years since I started this Gout Killer website and it has not been easy…or profitable, but I keep doing it and little by little everything is working out great!

And getting emails like this one from Wayne is PRICELESS!

  Ka kite ano!

Bert Middleton

“I know your pain. Let me help you kill your gout for good!  And teach you to advocate for yourself and take ownership of your gout recovery, by showing you how to live the gout-free lifestyle.” Two decades ago, Bert Middleton found himself diagnosed with gout. Like 8.3 million other people in the United States (approximately 4% of the population), he struggled helplessly with the physical, emotional, social, and financial impact that gout left unchecked can have on your life. Prescription drugs were of limited help… And the terrible pain of regular gout attacks left him unable to enjoy even the simplest daily pleasures. His marriage was suffering. His finances were spiraling due to the impact gout had on his ability to work. And maintaining a social life was often nearly impossible. Tophi surgeries left him in terrible pain.  And he found himself depressed … and angry … that gout was stealing years of his life.

Until one day, after hundreds of hours of research and self-experimentation, Bert finally had a breakthrough and created a blueprint for a way of living that would prove to be “the answer” to living gout-free for nearly a decade now. Today, Bert and his “Gout Wife” Sharon devote their evenings and weekends to educating other gout sufferers on how to live the gout-free lifestyle. Showing others his 911 Emergency Response Gout Recovery Plan for getting PAINFUL gout attacks under control in as little as 4 hours. And then, how to make daily choices that keep gout under control for GOOD! So you can finally start LIVING again!
